KANAB Motor Ethiopia

Our History

KANAB Motor Ethiopia was established in 2020 as part of the KANAB Group, a prominent Ethiopian business conglomerate owned by the well-known businessman Mr. Hamza Ahmed. The company serves as the successor to Hamza Ahmed’s successful three-wheeler and two-wheeler import and dealership business, which operated locally for eight years until 2019. The company was founded after acquiring 5,000 square meters of production space in Adama City, located 100 kilometers from Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa.

With an initial paid-up capital of 4 billion ETB, KANAB began its assembly operations in 2020, focusing on local production. KANAB Motor Ethiopia has rapidly grown to become one of the largest vehicle assemblers in the country, increasing daily output to 80–100 three-wheelers and 40–60 motorcycles by 2024, while earning recognition as one of Ethiopia’s top taxpayers.
