Our History
KANAB Motor Ethiopia,
KANAB Motor Ethiopia was established in 2020 as part of the KANAB Group, a prominent Ethiopian business conglomerate owned by the well-known businessman Mr. Hamza Ahmed. The company serves as the successor to Hamza Ahmed’s successful three-wheeler and two-wheeler import and dealership business, which operated locally for eight years until 2019.The company was founded after acquiring 5000 square meters of production space in Adama City, located 100 kilometers from Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa. With an initial paid-up capital of 4 billion ETB, KANAB began its assembly operations in 2020, focusing on the local production of three-wheelers and motorcycles.From its humble beginnings, KANAB Motor Ethiopia has rapidly grown to become one of the largest vehicle assemblers in the country, with daily production capacities increasing from 30 three-wheelers and 20 motorcycles in 2020 to 80-100 three-wheelers and 40-60 motorcycles by 2024. The company has also gained recognition as one of the top taxpayers in Ethiopia and has been consistently awarded for its contribution to the economy.
